The Plan for Services, which was approved by the City Commission by adoption of Resolution No. 6507-20 on June 3, 2020, calls for provision of these services to be funded by special assessments. An estimate of the cost of performing the Plan for Services, a list of lots and lands to be assessed, along with estimated assessments for each property in the Special Assessment District, and all other relevant documents are on file and available for inspection by any interested person at the office of the Clerk of Commission, City Hall, 101 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45402. The special assessments shall be levied by a formula in which seventy-five percent (75%) of the assessment is based in proportion to the assessed valuation of the respective lots and lands. The remaining twenty-five percent (25%) shall be based in proportion to the front footage of the lots and lands to be assessed. The special assessments to be levied shall be paid in five annual installments. Those deferred annual installments will be subject to a Montgomery County collection fee (presently 5%) for administering and collecting the special assessments, based upon the amount to be billed and collected by Montgomery County each year. The owner of any property assessed may pay the special assessment in full within thirty (30) days after passage of the assessing ordinance. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A BILL. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT AT THIS TIME. Detailed information about the amounts to be assessed to property which you own is shown on the attached page(s).
