Public Notice No. 23 the U.S. Department

PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 23 The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from City of Dayton to construct The Dayton Water Generator Project in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio to purchase and install five generators at two city owned water treatment plants, the Miami Treatment Plant and the Ottawa Treatment Plant. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, EDA is conducting an environmental assessment (EA) of the proposed project. The project will include the design, purchase, and construction of new electric generators to provide a minimal level of service to maintain critical operations at the Division of Water Supply and Treatment's Administration Offices, the Miami Water Treatment Plant, and the Ottawa Treatment Plant. Along with the purchase of the generators, construction will consist of concrete work, conduit, electrical wiring, sitework, and other miscellaneous work. The project will be located at 1044 Ottawa St, 935 Ottawa St, and 3210 Chuck Wagner Ln. The purpose of the project is to enhance and add to the existing redundancy of the Dayton Water Supply System in the event of power loss from hazard or disaster. The proposed generators would ensure water operations could continue at a minimal level of service and insure adequate water pressure during a power outage for operations such as fire suppression, health care services and minimum business functions. Project information is available for review at City of Dayton Water, 320 W Monument, Dayton, OH 937-333-3725.
