Hazardous Waste Facility Other Authorizing Actions Cascade Corp 2501 Sheridan Ave, Springfield, OH 45505 ID #: OHD004284923 Date of Action: 11/04/2022 The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) has prepared this Statement of Basis (SOB) for the Cascade Facility located at 2501 Sheridan Avenue, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio 45505. This SOB describes the remedies employed to achieve compliance with RCRA Corrective Action (CA) requirements for the facility, solicits public review and comments, and provides information on how the public can be involved in the remedy selection process. Ohio EPA is proposing the following remedies for public review and comment: Ohio EPA and Cascade enter into an Environmental Covenant (EC) to restrict the use of the property to commercial and industrial purposes and prohibit potable use of ground water. The proposed remedies also include enhanced in situ bioremediation injections with off-site monitored natural attenuation, an operation and maintenance plan to ensure all sub-slab depressurization systems remain effective, and a Risk Mitigation Plan. The Ohio EPA RCRA ID number for the site is: OHD004284923. A public availability session will be held at the Clark County Public Library on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm where representatives from Cascade and the Ohio EPA will be available to share information about the site and answer any questions.
