MIAMI COUNTY COMMISSIONERS/TROY CITY COUNCIL/PIQUA CITY COUNCIL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS (HOME) PROGRAM NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #2 PY 2023 COMMUNITY HOUSING IMPACT AND PRESERVATION (CHIP) PROGRAM The Board of Miami County Commissioners intends to partner with the Cities of Troy and Piqua to apply to the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) for funding under the Program Year 2023 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, federally funded programs administered by the State of Ohio. Through their partnership, Miami County, Troy and Piqua are eligible for up to $1,100,000 of PY 2023 Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program funding provided they meet applicable program requirements. On March 7, 2023, Miami County conducted its first Public Hearing to inform citizens about the entire CDBG/HOME program, how funds may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements. Based on both citizen input and officials' assessments of housing needs throughout Miami County, the Miami County CHIP Program Partnership will be selecting from the following proposed programs and activities for PY 2023 CHIP funding: MIAMI COUNTY PROGRAM/ACTIVITY CHIP OTHER PROGRAM PROGRAM FUNDS FUNDS INCOME OUTCOMES 1. Administration $14,250 none none na PROGRAM TOTALS: $490,600 $2,000 $410,400 17 This second Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at 1:45pm in the County Commissioners Meeting Room, located on the 1st Floor of the Miami County Safety Building, 201 West Main Street, Troy, Ohio, to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed CHIP Program Application including the proposed programs and activities summarized above, before the Miami County CHIP Program Partnership applies to the Ohio Department of Development for funding. The application deadline is June 21, 2023. Citizens are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing to express their views and comments on the proposed CHIP Program Application.
