NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Butler County Finance Authority, formerly known as the Butler County Port Authority (the "Finance Authority"), on behalf of itself and the City of Springdale, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. local time, with respect to issuance by the Finance Authority of its Economic Development Facilities Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2026 (Maple Knoll Communities, Inc.), which may be issued in one or more series in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $24,000,000 (the "Bonds") on behalf of Maple Knoll Communities, Inc., an Ohio nonprofit corporation (the "Borrower"). If authorized, the Bonds will be "qualified 501(c)(3) bonds" as defined in Section 145 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the "Code") issued to refinance continuing care retirement community facilities. Upon the issuance of the Bonds, the proceeds of the Bonds would be loaned to the Borrower and used to (a) refund and retire all or a portion of the Finance Authority's Economic Development Facilities Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2021B-1, Series 2021B-2 and Series 2021B-3 (Maple Knoll Communities, Inc.), the proceeds of which were used to finance or refinance the Borrower's continuing care retirement community facilities located at 11100 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246 (the "Springdale Site") and 6727 Contreras Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056 (the "Oxford Site") and (b) pay all or a portion of the costs of issuing the Bonds. It is expected that the amount of proceeds of the Bonds used to refinance the facilities located at the Oxford Site will not exceed $13,500,000, and at the Springdale Site will not exceed $13,500,000, but in no event will the total proceeds of the Bonds exceed $24,000,000. The Borrower will be the owner and operator of the facilities refinanced with the proceeds of the Bonds. The Bonds shall not represent or constitute a debt or pledge of the faith and credit of the Finance Authority, the County of Butler, Ohio, the City of Springdale, Ohio, the State of Ohio, or any political subdivision of the State of Ohio. All property financed and/or refinanced by a portion of the proceeds of the Bonds constitutes "port authority facilities" as that term is defined in Section 4582.21 through 4582.73 of the Ohio Revised Code. The owner and the operator of such property is and will continue to be the Borrower. Pursuant to Internal Revenue Service Revenue Procedure 2022-20 ("Rev. Interested persons are invited to attend this public hearing using the information above and will be given an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed issuance of the Bonds or may submit them prior to the public hearing to the Finance Authority by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 300 High Street, Suite #601, Hamilton, Ohio 45011, Attention: President and Chief Executive Officer, and clearly marked "RE: Economic Development Facilities Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2026 (Maple Knoll Communities, Inc.)."
