NOTICE OF ADOPTION Roy Crackel, III., whose last known address was 849 Valley Street, Dayton, Ohio 45404, and whose current place of residence and whereabouts are unknown and cannot with reasonable diligence be ascertained, will take notice that on February 28, 2022, Petitioners, Mandy Sue and Kevin Andrew Knost filed their Petition for the Adoption of the minor child Avalynn Rose Crackel, Case No. 2022 ADP 00028, in the Probate Court of Montgomery County, Ohio, praying that they be permitted by Order of the Court to adopt, as their own child, the child Avalynn Rose Crackel, a minor born at Dayton, Ohio, and that the name of the child be changed to Avalynn Rose Knost, allegeding among other things in said Petition that Roy Crackel, III., the natural father, has failed without justifiable cause, to provide more than de minimus contact with the minor or to provide for the maintenance and support of the minor as required by law or judicial decree for a period of at least one (1) year preceding the filing of the Adoption Petition. Further, Roy Crackel, III. Shall take Notice that on May 10, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. the Montgomery County Probate Court, located at 41 North Perry Street, Dayton, Ohio 45422, did have a Hearing on the Petition for the Adoption of the minor child, and the Adoption of the minor child, Avalynn Rose Crackel, was Ordered and the child's name Ordered to be changed to Avalynn Rose Knost, pending the completion of service upon Roy Crackel, III. "A final decree of adoption, if granted, will relieve you of all your parental rights and responsibilities, including the right to contact the minor, and except with respect to a spouse of the adoption petitioner and relatives of that spouse, terminate all legal relationships between the minor and you and the minor's other relatives, so that the minor thereafter is a stranger to you and the minor's former relatives for all purposes. If you wish to contest the adoption, you must file an objection to the petition within fourteen days after proof of service of notice of the filing of the petition and the time and place of the hearing is given to you. If you wish to contest the adoption, you must also appear at the hearing." A final decree of adoption may be entered if you fail to file an objection to the adoption petition or appear at the hearing. You have the right to have counsel represent you at the hearing on your objection to the Adoption Petition.
