Notice is Hereby Given That the Franklin City

Notice is hereby given that the Franklin City Council will hold public hearings on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., for the following items: A. ORDINANCE 2023-01 ADOPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF PLANNING COMMISSION AND APPROVING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFORM DEVELOPMENT CODE TEXT AND OFFICIAL DOWNTOWN DISTRICT ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF FRANKLIN, OHIO TO CREATE THE DOWNTOWN ZONING DISTRICTS AND ELIMINATE THE HISTORIC OVERLAY DISTRICT The City has been working closely with consulting firm McBride Dale Clarion to develop new zoning regulations for Franklin's downtown area to better suit the City's vision and economic development goals for the area. The collaborative effort resulted in the creation of several new zoning districts covering the downtown area, collectively referred to as the "Downtown Districts". To implement the new Downtown Districts, certain amendments must be made to the text of the Uniform Development Code, and to the City's Official Zoning Map to rezone certain downtown area properties. The City of Franklin Planning Commission reviewed, and gave input on, the proposed text and map amendments over the course of multiple public meetings. Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed amendments during its December 14, 2022 meeting. Commission members unanimously voted to initiate the amendments, and recommend approval of the same to City Council, following the hearing. The final proposed text amendments are attached as "Exhibit A" to Ordinance 2023-01 and the amended Zoning Map is attached as "Exhibit B" to the Ordinance. If Council approves of the amendments, the Ordinance states that Council adopts Planning Commission's December 14th recommendation and votes to approve the amendments as presented.
