Hamilton, Ohio The City of Hamilton Civil Service Commission will have one vacancy that must be filled. The Civil Service Commission is a three person Commission with its members each serving three year terms. All three members of this Commission are appointed by the Hamilton City Council. Applications will be accepted through January 23rd, 2026 until 5:00pm. Applications can be sent mailed electronically to the City Clerk at City.Clerk@ hamilton-oh.gov or brought to the City Clerk's Office before the deadline. Applications may also be mailed, however all applications that are not received by the City Clerk at 5:00pm on January 23, 2025 will not be considered including those that are still in the US Postal Service delivery system. City Council will be voting on their appointments before the end of January. Applicants must be residents within the Municipal Boundaries of the City of Hamilton in order to be considered. Residents must also not hold any other public office or public employment other than an organized militia or a teacher or a teacher in the public schools or in an institution of higher education and learning. The Commission must meet at least five times a year with no more than 90 days passing between each meeting. Historically the Commission will meet more frequently than that. These meetings are commonly held on a weekday during the City's normal hours of operation of 8:30am - 5:00pm.
