Certificate of Appropriateness Application Review: A certificate of appropriateness application has been submitted by applicant Ashley Miller/R House on behalf of property owner Todd Jones. The applicant requests approval of an exterior sign for 1326 Central Avenue. The subject parcel is located within the Central Avenue Historic District where any material change in the exterior appearance of a property requires a Certificate of Appropriateness, according to the Middletown Development Code. Demolition of a Historic Building: A request for demolition of a historic building has been submitted by property owner City of Middletown. The applicant requests approval to demolish the existing structure known as the Dan F. Snider Ford Dealership Building located at 101 N. Main Street, which is a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The demolition of a historic landmark requires Historic Commission permission according to Chapter 1212.06 of the Middletown Development Code. The applicant requests approval to demolish the existing structure known as the Hotel Manchester located at 1027 Manchester Avenue, which is a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
