Legal Notice No.1200-39 NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT On September 24, 2025, the Dayton City Commission, at the request of the Downtown Dayton Special Improvement District, Inc., adopted Resolution 6888-25, declaring it necessary to implement the Plan for Services adopted by the City Commission by adoption of Resolution No. 6878-25 on July 30, 2025, calls for provision of these services to be funded by special assessments. An estimate of the cost of performing the Plan for Services, a list of lots and lands to be assessed, along with estimated assessments for each property in the Special Assessment District, and all other relevant documents are on file and available for inspection by any interested person at the office of the Clerk of Commission, City Hall, 101 West Third Street, Dayton OH 45402. The special assessment shall be levied by a formula in which seventy-five percent (75%) is based on the proportion of the assessed valuation of the respective lots and lands. The remaining twenty-five percent (25%) shall be based in proportion of the front footage the lots and lands to be assessed. The special assessment to be levied shall be paid in five annual installments. Those deferred annual installments shall be subject to a Montgomery collection fee (presently .5%) for administering and collecting the special assessments, based upon the amount to be billed and collected by Montgomery County each year. The owner of any property assessed may pay the special assessment in full within thirty (30) days after passage of the assessing ordinance. Detailed information about the amounts to be assessed to each property is on file with the Clerk of Commission for inspection. If the owner of any property assessed has any objection, they must file the objection in writing with the office of the Clerk of Commission, City Hall, 101 West Third St., Dayton OH 34302 within two (2) weeks of the completion of this Notice to Property Owners of Special Assessment. The City of Dayton Commission appointed an Assessment Equalization Board to hear and determine the outcome of all written objections. The Board will meet at 10:00 a.m. on November 21, 2025, in the City Commission Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 101 West Third St., Dayton, Ohio. The details regarding the meeting of the Assessment Equalization Board will be provided in writing at least five (5) days prior to November 21, 2025.
