City of Springfield Charter Amendment Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the City Council of City of Springfield, passed on July 29, 2025, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the General Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 4th day of November, 2025, the question of: Shall Proposed Charter Amendment - Section 47 of the Charter of City of Springfield be amended as follows: Providing for the designation of all positions within the Police Division above the rank of Lieutenant as unclassified and to allow for lateral entry for the position of Firefighter-Paramedic? The polls for the election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
